A House for a Straightforward Family

The aim was to replace the existing old, non-functional, oversized, energy-inefficient and architecturally unarticulated house with a new one. The clients made it clear they were not talking about a “new outfit” but rather a “total opposite of the old”.
Only two tangible traces of the “old” remained, thus preserving a sense of continuum of the family heritage – the wine cellar, now easily accessible, and the old dining table. Flowing with the terrain, the house takes the narrow plot of land as an opportunity.
