GALLERY CUKRARNA

The Sugar factory was constructed in early 19th century, at the edge of Ljubljana city. Due to its multi-layered literary and architectural history it is protected as a built heritage building. In 2009 the Municipality of Ljubljana held an open competition for proposals, in which architectural office Scapelab proposed that the old structure be completely emptied of all internal structures, and reprogrammed as a large-scale gallery space.
