City park Rakova Jelša

The new city park Rakova jelša is a connection between the city and the regional park Barje. Once a dilapidated area, serving as unregulated vegetable plot and illegal waste dump, it has been brought to life as a new public space. The park features wooden sports equipment and the existing foundation plates of toolsheds, which are now used as picnic venues. From the entrance to the park, a new path leads to the river Ljubljanica across a wetland and past an existing row of poplar trees.
