The house in the centre of Domžale was one of the few still preserved typical houses in the neighbourhood. The conservation of cultural heritage is crucial to preserving its spatial qualities – its space-time, its multilayered built tissue, and the identity of the environment. The designers hope that the building could represents an alternative, financially viable and sustainable approach to home renovation. They cleared the interior space and preserved the elements that speak of the true ambiance of the old building. The new interventions are respectfully set apart from the old walls and can be distinguished also in the choice of materials.
