Twin Alpine Houses
Two contemporary alpine houses subtly intertwine tradition and innovation, nature and architecture, developing a new model of living on steep terrain. The lower level, made of exposed concrete, forms a solid, embedded base, while the upper wooden volume, with its visible dowels and structural expression, emphasizes ecological commitment. A panoramic window brings nature into the interior as its most striking element. The elevated wooden terrace, supported by V-shaped beams, functions as an entrance space, a scenic lookout, and an outdoor living area, while the floating wooden roof, clad in split shingles, completes the design and shapes a meditative “tent”. Thoughtfully integrated into the steep landscape, with its materiality and colour palette, the houses blend into the surrounding mixed alpine forest while concluding the existing settlement of holiday homes.
The Alpine Houses are located in Kranjska Gora.
