SCIENCE CENTRE
In order to promote and popularise science in the Republic of Slovenia, and with the objectives of stimulating interest in science and increasing the role of knowledge in the social and business environment, the Ministry of education, science and sport wishes to establish suitable infrastructure, i.e. the »Science Centre«.
“Science Centre” will be a meeting point of science, technology and culture through close integration of the business sector, research activities and education. “Science Center” strives to establish an intelligent, innovative, interdisciplinary, interactive organism of learning, ideas, creation, connection, research and solutions.
The circle as a universal symbol, representing the world from an atomic scale to planetary dimensions, was chosen as the design tool for the systematic spatial organisation of the Science Centre, uniting a series of circular pavilions under a common roof, located in the park. The main exhibition pavilion defines the center of the system and is surrounded by satellite-like pavilions with various programs. This key public infrastructure is conceived as a demonstration building, promoting the latest and future technologies and materials, which protect human health, conserve energy and material resources, all while respecting the environment. With its ambitious programming, it represents inclusive architecture—a building with the capacity to evolve over its long-lasting life cycle.
Free entrance in the building is HERE. The application is available at the following links: iOS, Android
