House Mali Vrh
The design of the house follows the example of the existing buildings along the edge slope of Barje and the natural slope. The entrance to the house is from the upper floor into the double height volume that connects both levels. Living spaces on the ground level are directly connected with the garden and are naturally shaded by the overhanging upper floor. The hanging vertical chimney of the fireplace is the centre point of the double height volume of the house. Apart from its load-bearing function, the double-ridged roof also plays an important part in the architectural narrative. It speaks about the articulation of the contents into service area in the north and living quarters in the south.
