Rotovž Centre

The new Rotovž Centre project was created as a programmatic upgrade of the award-winning competition solution from 2008. The Centre is located in the middle of the old city of Maribor, which is in its entirety protected as an urban monument. The planned program is taking place in listed buildings as well as in two new buildings. There will be three cultural institutions operating in the Rotovž Centre complex: the Maribor Library, the Maribor Art Gallery – UGM 21 and the newly established Rotovž art cinema. The new project envisages a rich interplay of various cultural programmes, which represents a significant upgrade to the original project. Throughout the entire process of designing building volumes and arranging programmes, the architects have followed the vision of creating diverse nodes of intertwining programmes to meet the requirements of all users.
