Parking garden

How to transform a parking lot into a place of social encounters?

Eager to design the exterior layout of the restaurant space, Raketa began with the premise that the entrance area should take overwhelming precedence over the parking lot. At the forefront we placed a wall as a dramatic foil to the chaotic traffic beyond. A concrete monolith more than 10 meters long – one might say a sculpture – establishes a new relationship between the busy city intersection, parking area and the privacy of the hospitality venue. In spite of its small size, the project questions the seeming efficacy of any parking lot.
