Arrangement of the city square in Idrija
The first Slovenian industrial town with a 500-year history, Idrija is a place of many stories. The Town Square with its new, tailor-made dress has improved the life of citizens. By chanelling all traffic connections, the square has become a part of the urban structure. The pavement marks the outlines of a former church demolished after the Second World War. The underground chapel has been elevated above the level of the square and emphasized by two longitudinal walls with water flowing between them. On the edge of the square there is a stone staircase bridging different levels of the urban park and the Town Square.
