The Pedestrian Bridge across the River Rinža
The bridge over the Rinža River spans in a long, elegant arc, resting on two existing supports on both banks and settling on a low grassy elevation. The choice of materials and construction responds to the spatial and cultural context of the location, following local traditions. The structure of the bridge consists of two arch-shaped wooden beams, protected by a textured wooden cladding. Due to its rational design and economic efficiency, such a bridge could serve as a standard model for crossing waterways. The bridge is perceived as a highlight and focal point of the Gaj sports park area before the river enters the center of Kočevje.
