Strunjan fishing port

The project of the fishing port at Strunjan comprises a reconstruction of the harbour with 12 new berths, deepening of the channel, new fishing equipment, such as an ice machine, storage space and waste collection point, and a multi-purpose platform. The shape of the structure resembles saline fields. A walkway crosses the central platform, which is sea-oriented. On the eastern side, three simple buildings are visually linked to each other by robust free-standing frames where fishing equipment can be stored. By placing the three buildings apart from each other, we achieved visual transparency and dematerialisation of the volume mass.
