Renovation of a square in Šoštanj

The square called Trg svobode dates back to the 1950s, when the municipality of Šoštanj was built. Recently, it was used mainly as a parking lot, and was converted back into a pedestrian zone after the renovation. New pavement, lightning, benches and greenery were installed, and stairs were built in front of the municipal building. The well, discovered during the works, became a part of the square. Wheelchair access was added to the municipal building. The intervention in the protected historical centre of the town was supervised by the Institute for the protection of cultural heritage of Celje.
