House NaGor
The row-house neighbourhood, built between 1955 and 1957, was designed by Marko Šlajmer and his collaborators. Its low-density yet compact layout enables a direct connection with the outdoors and represents an alternative form of living in a green environment, offering a high quality of living that remains relevant today.
The renovation project focuses on minimal interventions that improve living conditions while preserving the original architectural concept. The architects connected six split levels into a unified vertical space organized around a central open staircase, resulting in greater spatial flow, improved natural light, and enhanced visual continuity between spaces. The bright and restrained interior, defined by the use of wood and white surfaces, emphasizes a sense of openness and domestic warmth. The layout was reorganized to maximize the use of space, and the renovation is complemented by a ground-floor kitchen extension that, with its calm architectural expression, discreetly integrates into the existing structure.
The house is located in Ljubljana.
