culinary studio-workshop
Before “the Workshop” became a cooking studio, this was Trebušak’s carpetry workshop, built in 1939. “The workshop” preserves its original floors, windows, a few cabinets and work tables, which are transformed into dining tables. It is a mixture of the old with modern technology, which is imperceptibly integrated into the space. New pieces of furniture give the studio lightness and act as a counterweight to the large amount of wood. On the site of the former paint shop, there are unique toilets, a shower and a lounge. In the toilet there is a handmade wooden sink and the shower tub is wooden, too. The centerpiece is a fireplace; the wood stove gives the studio warmth and a touch of romance. The walls are painted with antique rollers and many different decorative elements have not only aesthetical importance, but also double as sound diffusers. The kitchen is dominated by Neff’s modern black appliances because the studio also hosts Neff’s showroom. “The workshop” is a multipurpose space intended for film shooting, cooking and other creative and social activities. The space has been completely renovated and designed by Primož Dolničar, who had in mind comfort and aesthetic pleasure of visitors, guests and participants.
