Vila Zlatica – In the footsteps of Ivan Hribar

The renovated Villa Zlatica in the Rožna dolina neighbourhood, home of the famous former mayor of Ljubljana, Ivan Hribar (1851–1941), now offers visitors an insight into the life of one of Ljubljana’s most popular mayors and the living culture of a Slovenian bourgeois family at the beginning of the 20th century. As part of this year’s Open House Slovenia Festival, we invite you to take a walk around Ljubljana, following in the footsteps of one of the most influential mayors of our city, Ivan Hribar. We will start our walk in front of the City Hall, where Hribar shaped the future of Ljubljana for many years as Mayor. Ivan Hribar was a remarkable figure who left an indelible mark on the political, social, and cultural life of Ljubljana at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. His charisma, commitment, and unwavering dedication to Ljubljana made him one of the most active mayors in the history of our city.
