The hinge house

This house in Ajdovščina, under the ridge of Trnovska planota, features a symbolic hinge in its narrowest point, while opening widely towards the south. Its design adjusts to the high dwelling culture of its owners, who are renowned artists, as well as to the strong northeastern wind, the views of Vipavska valley, the sloping terrain and the sunlight. The entrance and the living quarters are located on the upper floor, while the bedrooms on the lower floor face the garden. There is a roof terrace with a good view of the surroundings.
