Slovenijales
The building was designed in 1974 and built a few years later. The architect is academician Milan Mihelič. The building was intended for the sale of furniture, and the second floor was used as a computer centre for Slovenijales company. Before the renovation, the building stood empty for several years, the shop was no longer there, and occasionally exhibitions were held in the basement, linked to the premises of the Gospodarsko razstavišče fairground. The building has an exceptional structure, as the above-ground floors stand on eight columns, on which there are prestressed beams of the same height as the second-floor level. A spatial truss structure carrying the first floor is suspended from these beams by 18 rods. The current owner, Zavarovalnica Triglav, designated the first floor for office use, so it was necessary to provide daylight, which was originally absent on this floor. The double façade of the floor thus preserves the original appearance of the building. Behind the service interspace there is an inner façade with windows that open into the intermediate space. The offices on the second floor predominantly had zenithal light. With the new covered atriums in the central part of the floor, the offices open up to outdoor spaces and have gained direct daylight. The renovation was completed in 2016; the building was fully energy-renovated and achieves energy class B.
