Kržišnik Garden

The garden originates from 1977 and encompasses about two hectares of landscaped area. The former marshy meadow was designed in harmony with the natural environment, the hill and the Sora River. The main feature of the garden are rare plant species planted along with the autochthonous flowers and trees from nearby meadows and forests. The four seasons compose a cycle of growth, flowering, fruit bearing and dying in colors, structures, and shapes. Several iron and wooden sculptures are thoughtfully placed in the garden. Water surrounds the garden from three sides, forming two ponds full of water plants and animals. The garden emphasizes the importance of our coexistence with nature and with our living and creative environment.
