Congress Square and Zvezda Park
Congress Square and Zvezda Park are among the most important landmarks of Ljubljana. The renovation, which was aimed at restoring the square as a central venue of mass events, was based on the design concept of the architect Jože Plečnik. An underground car park was built under the square and the park, with the entrance in front of Kazina building, although the entrance was originally planned to be from Slovenska Street. An important element is the presentation of Roman archaeological remains, as the site of the park lies at the entrance to the Roman town Emona. With the renewal of the open-air music pavilion, the park has become a popular gathering space, and the two side streets have been revitalized.
