Arch Lab

Arch Lab was created as a laboratory for architectural renovation. The goal was to test minimally invasive renovation methods. The project respects the historical context and combines modern design approaches with existing architecture. The old stone house underwent many haphazard modifications in recent history, which were removed during the renovation. The building’s original substance was revealed. Stone walls and wooden structures create a blend of old and new.

The house is located in Croatian Istria.
