Join us for an architectural exploration of Gorenjska: OHS Minifest 2026

This autumn, we once again invite you to discover and explore quality architecture, spaces and the stories behind them through a rich programme of architectural events. From 25 to 27 September, the fourth OHS Minifest will take place, this year bringing architecture in the Gorenjska region into focus and opening the doors to selected architectural projects.

We created the OHS Minifest with the aim of bringing quality architecture closer to local residents and the wider public beyond the main annual festival, while providing opportunities to discover it in different parts of Slovenia throughout the year. We believe that the importance of well-designed spaces for everyday life can only be truly understood through direct experience. By opening the doors to quality architectural projects and creating opportunities to meet their architects and users, we aim to strengthen spatial literacy, encourage interest in the local built environment, and foster a more active and responsible relationship with the spaces in which we live.

Over the three festival days, you will have the opportunity to explore selected projects in the company of architects, users and others involved in their development, as well as to enter spaces that are not always accessible to the general public.

The Gorenjska region is characterised by exceptional natural features, a strong local identity and a rich architectural heritage, making the relationship between new interventions, the landscape and the existing built environment particularly important. Through projects of different scales – from a small holiday house to educational and infrastructure projects – the festival programme will reveal the diversity of contemporary architecture in Gorenjska and the ways in which it responds to place, landscape and the needs of contemporary life.

Among this year’s programme highlights is a presentation of the Karavanke tunnel – second tube, offering a rare insight into one of Slovenia’s largest infrastructure projects. In Bohinj, we will open the doors to Bohinj Kindergarten and the Stara Fužina Cultural Centre, while the programme will also extend to Bled, where you will be able to visit, among other projects, the renovated Sokol Hall and the Bled Boathouse, which received the Plečnik Award this year. The diverse selection will be rounded off by other interesting residential, tourism, commercial and public projects, revealing different facets of contemporary architecture in the Gorenjska region.

Part of the programme will also take place in Ljubljana, where, for the first time since its completion, we will open the doors of the sustainable office building Vilharia to visitors. In previous years, we presented the project through guided construction-site tours; this time, we will have the opportunity to experience it together as a completed building.

The OHS Minifest programme will be published on the OHS website on 14 September, and free registration for the guided tours will open on Wednesday, 16 September 2026, at 9:00 AM.
