Trieste Book Centre
The proximity of Oberdan Square to Fabiani’s National Hall inspired us to look for a distinct feature of this symbolic building for the Slovenes of Trieste that we could relate to. We found it in Fabiani’s facade decorations. We deconstructed a decorative element and reassembled it to form the basic structure of our bookshelves. This created an interior with the bookshelves as its central feature. Large glazed windows facing a covered colonnade allow for open views, making the interior part of the city.
