Pastoral and cultural center of the Serbian Church Municipality of Ljubljana

The design of the new parish is derived from the central organization of space in Orthodox communities, but it is interpreted in a modern way. The building is both shapely and color-dominated by the neighboring church of St. Cyril and Methodius and the building of the National Gallery. The trapezoidal form of the ground plan opens up towards the church. The light between the peripheral structures penetrates deep into the interior, where due to the selected materials and the image composition, special light, basilic effects are produced; the atmosphere created by such a penetration of light into space is appropriate for the sense of Orthodox faith. The colours and the motifs are based on prescribed liturgical colors and symbols of the Orthodox Church.
