Extension of the Waldorf School Ljubljana

The extension of the Ljubljana Waldorf School adds a new layer of time and content to the existing 17th and 19th century buildings. This is reflected both in the form of new buildings, and the choice of materials and construction. The above-ground portion is made entirely of wood and natural materials. The organic design of the new architecture is a result of the tendency to improve the feeling of an open courtyard space, which is otherwise caught between a busy road and the castle hill, while improving natural lighting and ventilation in the basement hall. The school has one smaller and one large, modern gym or theater hall. Six classrooms are arranged on the ground floor and first floor, while the pavilion for art and music lessons is located at the top of the building.
