Cooperative Commercial Bank
This year marks the 140th anniversary of the birth of the architect Ivan Vurnik (1884-1971), who, along with Maks Fabiani and Jože Plečnik, is considered to be the pioneer of Slovenian architecture and the founder of urban planning in Slovenia. The building of the Cooperative Economic Bank, built in 1922, which was comprehensively planned, from the architectural design, paintings, frescoes and stained glass both inside and outside, is an example of the distinctive style that has made the building one of Ljubljana’s architectural icons.
The building will be presented by art historian Gojko Zupan.
