Slovenian Alpine Museum
The Alpine Museum derives its unconventional shape from traditional local building forms while focusing on energy efficiency. The building is clad in gray metal with vertical stripes that resemble traditional wooden mountain shelters used by shepherds. Large windows open towards the best views of the surrounding mountains. At the moment the museum consists of exhibition spaces, a multimedia auditorium, a souvenir shop and offices extended over 1200m2, but in the future additional 800 m2 are planned for exhibition spaces.
