RE_RE

The renovation project was executed in line with the two primary sustainability strategies: (RE)novation and (RE)cycling. With a strategy of adaptation, the machines inside the building were replaced with the primary elements of the home (fireplace, wooden furniture, sofa…). They also added the strategy of using the left-over materials resulting from the renovation. With the remains of brick, concrete, tiles, and asphalt as a surplus of the intervention in the old building, they filled the outer retaining walls (gabions). That’s how recycling occurs during the interweaving of the human intervention and nature, with the hope that a new relationship can be formed.
