Multi-purpose hall L56

This architectural intervention transformed a former industrial hall into a universal multi-purpose space for various events – concerts, fairs, symposiums … The original roof was replaced by a new steel one, which houses visible installations and lighting. The main intervention in the interior is a thick wall with a backstage area and a “ziggurat” with toilets and an entrance hall. The first floor is designed as a “raumplan” with a bar that opens into the interior of the hall. The project is characterized by a selection of rough materials – brick walls, concrete floor slabs, aluminum doors. The layer of silver colour, which changes according to different light conditions, denies the weight and tectonics of the building and emphasizes the simple nature of the construction.
