Franciscan Library

The library of the Franciscan Monastery in Ljubljana is considered the oldest (founded in 1233) and extensive private library in Slovenia. It has been located at this site since the late 18th century, but its current appearance dates back to 1896. The interior structure of the library is iron, covered in wooden paneling, and it comprises three floors: ground floor and two galleries. The interior furnishings of the library were thoroughly renovated between 2022 and 2023, and since the end of November 2023, it has been open to the wider public for the first time, along with a new museum and pinacotheca.
