The Grand Plaza Hotel has more than 350 rooms and bathrooms of various sizes on 22 floors. As a leading furniture manufacturer on the Slovenian market, which strives to maintain the highest standards of quality and sustainability, Alples has provided a sample room, product prototypes and sample materials for approval by the investor and designer. “We believe that durable, well-designed and ergonomic furniture is a valuable investment for living and business spaces. That is why we have focused on solving the individual needs of our clients. This means that piece furniture, such as a desk, bed, coffee table or wardrobe, is fully adapted to the architectural structure, the dimensions of the space and the wishes of the client,” says Primož Lušina, director of Alples.

In agreement with the main designer, Alples decided to use melamine-treated noble chestnut boards as the main material and accessories in imitation of gold and metal. The interior was completed with glass and mirrors, which provide for an optical increase in space and a play of light. When furnishing the rooms, they used different sizes of beds, from single to double, complemented by metal and wooden bedside tables on the sides, ergonomic desks with additional storage space, which allows guests to have everything they need for work at hand. For storing their wardrobes, they designed wardrobes with silent opening and closing doors, which offer maximum use of space, while also having shelves, drawers and hanging rods inside for easy handling of clothes. The living area of each hotel room ends with a relaxation area with a coffee table and a comfortable armchair. The coffee table brightens up the space and serves as an excellent storage place for books, newspapers, snacks and drinks. The equipment is complemented by small details that ensure that the hotel rooms work as a whole in terms of style and aesthetics.

More than seventy years of experience and a set of successfully completed projects of the Alples company prove its expertise in equipment planning, development of the best solutions within the estimated project value such as materials, processing and technical implementation, in line with the client’s requirements and standards. “During the project, we carefully manage both workshop and technical documentation, including detailed floor plans of individual types of rooms or spaces, views and cross-sections of walls with the layout of electrical wiring, and we coordinate it with the investor on an ongoing basis, which contributes to transparent traceability when obtaining permits. Our carefully prepared plans, which are coordinated with the originally prepared architectural projects, mechanical and electrical wiring projects, are a guide for assistance and coordination with all contractors on the facility. This way, we can anticipate all necessary changes and adjustments in advance. Depending on the given situations, we prepare proposals for necessary changes during the course of construction work, and thus easily achieve coordination of the completed work with the final interior design,” explains Primož Lušina.
