Exhibition of OHS Award winning projects

If this year’s Open Houses of Slovenia 2026 festival took place between 17 and 19 April throughout Slovenia and the closing event ceremony was on 19 May at the City Museum in Ljubljana, now the exhibition of nine projects that received the OHS Award is on display at Gallusovom nabrežje in Ljubljana until 24 June.

The public response was record-breaking: more than 30,000 votes were cast in total. Visitors voted for three equal awards in three categories:

  • Public, social and comercial projects
  • Residential projects
  • Wood based projects

The OHS Award is the only award in Slovenia that recognizes collaboration between investors, designers and contractors as a key value in creating quality architecture.
The OHS Award highlights projects that demonstrate that through collaboration we can create better spaces for people, the community and the future.

The award differs from traditional professional architectural awards primarily in that its purpose is not only to evaluate architectural achievements within the profession, but also to encourage the general public to understand the importance of a quality designed space and to actively participate in its creation. The OHS Award is not intended only for architects, but for the entire project team – architects, engineers, clients, contractors and investors. Such an approach emphasizes that quality architecture is created through the coordinated cooperation of various stakeholders who recognize the importance of space for community development and are aware of their responsibility in its co-creation.
