Public Institution GO! 2025 – EPIC

The EPIC project is the flagship project of the European Capital of Culture 2025, Nova Gorica – Gorizia. It is a cross-border participatory space dedicated to the interpretation, study, exchange of perspectives, and understanding of 20th-century history. The project is located in EPICenter, the former unloading area of the Slovenian Railways on Kolodvorska Road in Nova Gorica.

It consists of several parts: in the northern part of the building, there is an integral part of the building, the permanent exhibition City on the Border curated by Dr. Kaja Širok. The EPIC Gallery offers space for occasional exhibitions, while the multifunctional EPIC Hall, which can seat up to 200 people, hosts a variety of events – from conferences and symposia to round tables, film screenings, and receptions. At the southern end of the building, with a view of the Europe Square, is the EPIC Café.

The purpose of EPICenter is to promote dialogue about identity and shared heritage, with local residents actively participating in shaping its content. The platform addresses historical and cultural challenges and encourages collaboration and critical dialogue.
