Sports park Ilirija
A completely new sports center is being built in the area of the Ilirija Swimming Pool, which will include a covered Olympic pool, a training pool with all accompanying facilities, the Stanko Bloudek Museum, a larger hall for recreation, volleyball, and basketball, a smaller hall for gymnastics, aerobics, and fitness, as well as a hall for martial arts. This will continue and preserve the existing tradition of swimming and other sports activities in this area. Parking spaces will be arranged in the underground garage. The new construction will adhere to cultural heritage protection requirements, preserve the façade of the existing building, and reconnect Tivoli Park with the city by restoring the Latterman tree-lined avenue. The building will be heated and cooled using solar panels and heat pumps, enabling almost all the energy required for the center’s operation to be sourced from renewable resources. As a result, the new building will be one of the most environmentally friendly and emission-neutral large structures in Slovenia.

Visitors are kindly requested to wear appropriate footwear (closed shoes) during guided tour, as the project is still in the construction phase.
