Head-to-head test of cyclonic flush toilets – Geberit Acanto comes out on top
Geberit Acanto was rated the best cyclonic flush toilet in a test conducted by the German trade magazine SBZ and the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. The Geberit model stood out particularly for its outstanding flushing performance with small amounts of water.

How effective are ceramic toilets with cyclonic flushing? German magazine SBZ, which focuses on the HVAC and plumbing industry, set out to find the answer. In cooperation with the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences, they tested ten models in which the flushing water flows through the toilet bowl in a cyclonic motion. The focus was on flush quality and hygiene. The test included both standardized procedures according to DIN standards and practical applications. The tested toilets came from ten different suppliers operating in Germany.
Independent experts from Esslingen University of Applied Sciences concluded that cyclonic flushing systems outperform conventional flushing systems. All tested models received ratings ranging from good to very good. The Geberit Acanto, equipped with TurboFlush technology, earned top marks across all test categories – from flushing tests with toilet paper and plastic balls to stain tests using ketchup. In the overall ranking, Acanto clearly outperformed its competitors.
Expansion of the TurboFlush range in 2025
In addition to the well-known Geberit Acanto in ONE models, as well as the AquaClean shower toilet series, Geberit has expanded its range of toilets with TurboFlush technology this year. Several models from the iCon series, as well as Selnova models, are now also available with TurboFlush. This means that Geberit is making TurboFlush technology accessible for a variety of installation scenarios and across all price segments.
