Architecture and People: Family, Space, and the Culture of Living

Playful architecture begins a new series of 5 consecutive family creative workshops in April – Architecture and People: Family, Space, and the Culture of Living.

We invite you to join the 5 consecutive workshops, held on Thursdays from 16:00 to 18:00 at the Architecture Centre Ljubljana, Stritarjeva 7, 1000 Ljubljana.

These workshops are suitable for children and teenagers, as well as their companions or families, starting from the age of 4.


Program:

  • Architecture and Materials – What is a Home Made Of?, April 9, 2026
    The workshop raises questions about materials in architecture, their origin, properties, and use in space.

  • Architecture of Everyday Life – My Home, My Space, April 16, 2026
    The theme of the workshop is understanding the home as a living space, relationships, and habits.

  • City, Neighborhood, and Public Space – My Mini City, April 23, 2026
    The workshop focuses on understanding the broader urban environment, city, neighborhood, and public space.

  • Nature, Landscape, and Built Environment – Nature’s Escape into the City, May 7, 2026
    Through the workshop, participants will learn the basics of landscape architecture, the role of green spaces, water, and open areas.

  • People and Space – If I Participate, I Build, May 14, 2026
    The final workshop connects architecture with social relationships, the use of space, and future challenges of living.


The workshops are free of charge, and no registration is required. You can attend the entire series of workshops or individual ones.

The project People and Architecture: Family, Space, and the Culture of Living is a publicly accessible educational and cultural program that, through architectural workshops and a discussion event, addresses the relationship between people and space, with a special focus on family, living, and everyday use of architecture.
