This year, Open House Slovenia once again organizes OHS minifest<\/a>, which will take place from 26 to 28 September 2025<\/strong>. This unique festival, offering a rich spatial experience, will highlight outstanding buildings in Ljubljana and its surroundings. Visitors are invited to join free guided tours, experience architecture firsthand, and learn about its history, its relevance for the future, and its impact on everyday life.<\/p>\n

Highlights include tours of the renovated spaces of Tivoli Castle and the Kazina Palace. Visitors will also have the opportunity to once again explore the temporary premises of the SNG Drama Ljubljana in the refurbished industrial hall L56, including a peek behind the scenes. The Franciscan Library, home to the richest private book collection in Slovenia, will open its doors again. There will also be a guided visit to the construction site of Vilharia, Slovenia\u2019s most sustainably designed new office building.<\/p>\n

In 2025, we also celebrate the 160th anniversary of the birth of Maks Fabiani, one of Slovenia\u2019s most important architects. A part of his architectural vision will be revealed during a walk through Fabiani\u2019s Ljubljana<\/em>, led by Prof. Janez Ko\u017eelj. Visitors will also be able to see selected works by architect Jo\u017ee Ple\u010dnik \u2013 including during a tour of Ple\u010dnik\u2019s Green Ljubljana<\/em>, where Dr. Darja Pergovnik will present his designs for public open spaces.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s main theme of Open House Slovenia \u2013Future<\/em> Heritage<\/i>\u2013 continues and deepens in the autumn edition of OHS minifest. Through guided tours and examples from practice, the organizers create a space for dialogue on how we understand and value heritage in architecture and the built environment, and how we can responsibly transmit it into the future.<\/p>\n

OHS minifest is part of this year\u2019s European Heritage Days (organized by the European Union and the Council of Europe), reminding us to recognize values, richness, and inspiration in our architectural heritage. Each of us contributes to shaping the spaces we live in, and it is our responsibility to preserve and nurture quality heritage for future generations.<\/p>\n
