At the OHS 2025 Festival, the Trifolium<\/a> wine cellar opened its doors in Gori\u0161ka Brda. The project was created through the collaboration of winemaker Kristjan Kebe and architect Markus Klaura. Together, they developed, designed, and built a project they named after the three-leaf clover. Growing alongside the vine and nourishing the soil, the clover served as inspiration for the geometric structure, which is reflected in every detail.<\/p>\n

The aim was to create a connection between wine and architecture, where the soil, climate, and topography influence both viticulture and architectural design. In doing so, they took into account the seasonal processes of winemaking, making use of the terrain\u2019s elevation differences and the force of gravity.<\/p>\n

The decision to use flysch rock in the construction creates a direct connection with the surrounding environment. Inside the building, the stone was preserved in its natural, visible form, linking the wine to the very soil from which it originates. Complementary building materials concrete and corten steel contribute to a contemporary and robust spatial aesthetic.<\/p>\n

What began as a wish to design a small facility for the production of macerated wine grew into an inspiring story and a book that speaks of the joy of innovation and the bond with tradition in a borderland region. Here, three European cultures meet, successfully united by architecture and wine culture, by history and future. Ultimately, Trifolium is the result and expression of friendship.<\/p>\n
