Plečnik House – Guided tour of the exhibition Master Woodcarver Maks Bergant and Plečnik: The Charm of Wood
Ten years have passed since the comprehensive renovation of Plečnik House in Ljubljana’s Trnovo district. During this time, the house has become a focal point for exploring the legacy of Jože Plečnik, Slovenia’s greatest architect, whose work significantly shaped the city’s architecture in the first half of the 20th century. Over the past decade, the house has hosted a rich exhibition programme highlighting various aspects of Plečnik’s work, the mastery of his students and collaborators, and the reflections of contemporary creators inspired by his oeuvre.
In connection with exhibitions dedicated to Plečnik’s closest collaborators, we invite you during this year’s Open House Slovenia festival to join a guided tour by curator Ana Porok of the temporary exhibition Master Woodcarver Maks Bergant and Plečnik: The Charm of Wood, as well as to a free independent viewing of the permanent exhibition Plečnik. and Plečnik’s garden.*
*Visiting Plečnik’s original residence is not included in the OHS 2025 program; further information about viewing the residence is available here.
